United States Hut Systems

US Hut Alliance focuses on huts (cabins, yurts and lodges) in the United States intentionally connected by trails and designed to be visited in a sequence over a period of days by walking, skiing, or biking, and consistent with the mission, vision and values of the US Hut Alliance. A few groups of huts that do not quite fit this definition are included if they come close and/or if they offer interesting models that approximate hut-hut treks.

There are others who are mapping and listing huts around the world. This map of U.S. hut systems was started as Sam Demas’s hut2hut.info and transferred to USHA.  He  focused first on the USA, and gradually added Canadian hut systems.  As of January 2021 he had identified 37 operational hut systems in USA, 22 in Canada, and 7  in planning stages.
